About Us

History of the School

The School was started in 1977 by the local community. The objective was to cater for the increasing number of students wishing to join secondary school. it was started with structures that were put up by the colonial settler.

It started with an enrolment of 30 students. The School has grown to achieve the 577 students enrolment.

It started with three teachers and two support staff. The school has so far produced professionals in various fields e.g professors, Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors Lawyers, Doctors members of the disciplinary force, Educationists, and Journalists among others. In other fields, the school has produced Clergy and politicians.

Goals Of St Mary's Mwenje Boys  high school

The principal goal of our School is to develop the conscience and train the minds of its students so that they may usefully serve society. Above all, the School emphasizes academic excellence and moral integrity. The St Mary’s Mwenje Extra County Boys  high school brings together students of unusual promise and experienced teachers to form a community that is conducive to learning.

Through daily close contact with the students, in the classroom, in Co-curricular activities, and on the sports fields, the School staff, by example and precept, strives to teach the essence of goodness, honesty, responsibility, tolerance, hard work, humility, and sincerity. The School aims to provide an education based on Christian principles.

+ There is an obligation for the Principal and staff to implement the Student Code of Conduct policy fairly and consistently
